This radio, originating from 1940,  was acquired via an Internet auction.  The Philco 40-120,  operating at 115 V AC/DC, is a super heterodyne receiver (IF is 455 kHz) with RF pre-amplification.  It employs 6 loktal tubes (7C7, 7A8, 7B7, 7C6, 35A5 and 35Z3) and covers two wavebands (550-1600 kHz and 1.6-3.3 MHz).

The Philco 40-120 has a built in super aerial system. The wooden cabinet measures 28.5 x 19.0 x 18.0 cm (width x height x depth).
